Betty DewittBetty Dewitt of Bellevue was born September 6, 1926 in Harvey, Ill., to Dwight and Genevieve DeWitt. She was raised in Thornton, Ill., and she died April 9, 2008 in Kirkland.

Betty married Fred Dewitt on January 22, 1944 and moved to the Seattle area in 1950. She was a devoted wife, mother and “gramma”. Betty enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

Betty is survived by her son Tom DeWitt of Snoqualmie, Wash., daughter Cathy (and husband Harry) Gamble of Fall City, Wash., and daughter Carol (husband Jeff) Funk of Puyallup, Wash. Four grandchildren: Heather Lynch, Geoff DeWitt, Ryan Funk and Paul Funk also survive her.

A private ceremony has been held. Betty will be laid to rest with her husband Fred at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Wash. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donation preferred to the American Cancer Society 2120 1st N., Seattle, WA 98109-2301. Arrangement by Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home.
