Letter to the editor

Regardless of the media source (whether perceived as left or right), it’s incumbent upon the reader to verify the facts…to seek out the truth.Voting records of elected officials are open to public review. John McCain did indeed miss all of the key environmental votes in 2007. Putting party affiliation and rhetoric aside, if an individual visits my hometown touting him/herself as the “Environmental Candidate”, I want to know whether that individual has the record to back up that statement. And John McCain does not. Had Obama or Clinton made the visit, I would have scrutinized their environmental voting records as well.

The truth, however hard to hear and accept at times, can’t be ignored. We’ve had 8 years of ignorance and now we’re in a tight spot, environmentally and economically.
