Several Mount Si High School products helped the Sammamish Rowing Association win the Northwest Regional Championships in Vancouver, WA, last month.
Zach Lindor and Austen Bolves each helped SRA win the Men’s Varsity 8+ race for the first time ever with a time of 6:35.00. The pair also was involved with the Men’s Novice 4x+ team, which had a 7:10.43 to place first.
Because of their win in the varsity race, both Bolves and Lindor have now qualified for the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships on Harsha Lake outside Cincinnati, OH, June 13-15.
Shelby Sellers of Mount Si also helped SRA at the Northwest Regional Championships, rowing with the Women’s Novice 8+ team, which clocked a time of 7:51.65 to take first place.
Aside from the Men’s Varsity 8+ team, SRA also will be sending the Men’s Lightweight 8+, the Women’s Lightweight 8+, the Women’s Varsity 2x and the Women’s Lightweight 2x teams to the national championships in Ohio.
All races at regionals were 2,000 meters. SRA came home with 10 first-place finishes in individual events.
