Sno-Valley North moves on in Juniors division

Sno-Valley North of the Juniors division is the lone local little league baseball team with a chance to still win a championship at the District 9 All-Stars tournaments being played on the Eastside.Sno-Valley North, scheduled to take on Bellevue West today at 6 p.m. in Wilburton, needs three more wins to claim the championship. The team began the bracket with a 12-5 win against Bellevue Thunderbird, then defeated Snoqualmie Valley, 11-6. Nick Gagner earned the first win, while Alex Hueter went 3-for-4 with three doubles and Aaron Giles was 3-for-4. Against Snoqualmie Valley, Collin Hall picked up the victory and was helped by doubles from Hueter and Michael Hrcek.

In the Seniors division at Bellevue, Sno-Valley North was ousted after two games. Connor Chess went 2-for-3 and Alex Keen 2-for-4 in the opening game, but the team fell to Bellevue Thunderbird, 9-6. Sno-Valley North was then eliminated in a 14-10 loss to the Thunderbird, despite two RBI from both Keen and Austin Eddy.

Both local teams lost their opening games in the 11-12 Majors division at Sammamish. Snoqualmie Valley fell to Issaquah, 3-2, and Sno-Valley North lost to Redmond North, 4-2. Sno-Valley North was then bounced by Thunderbird, 7-1, but Snoqualmie Valley came back to defeat Kirkland American 10-3 and was scheduled to take on Sammamish American on Tuesday.

In the 10-11 division in Redmond, Snoqualmie Valley was beaten by Bellevue Thunderbird and Kirkland American in its first two games, while Sno-Valley North lost to Eastlake and Fall City. Both teams were eliminated.

In the 9-10 division in Issaquah, Sno-Valley North and Snoqualmie Valley each lost its opening contests, but Sno-Valley North came back to defeated Bellevue Thunderbird and move into a matchup with Bellevue West. Snoqualmie Valley was scheduled to take on Redmond North. Both teams were slated to play on Tuesday.
