Starting Sept. 22, Snoqualmie Ridge residents will have their first direct access to the King County Metro Transit system.
The new Route 215 service will provide five morning and five afternoon trips from North Bend, Snoqualmie and Snoqualmie Ridge to downtown Seattle, with stops in Issaquah and Bellevue. The 215 will replace eastern portions of the existing 214 route, which will now focus solely on service between Issaquah and Seattle.
“We are very pleased and grateful to finally see the much-needed addition of Metro bus service to our newest neighborhoods on Snoqualmie Ridge,” said Mayor Matt Larson. “Residents will welcome the fact that their Transit Now tax dollars are being put to work locally. The timing could not be more appropriate given rising gas prices and growing environmental concerns in our community.”
The 215 will serve a number of stops in Snoqualmie Ridge, primarily in a loop from Snoqualmie Parkway, Fairway Avenue Southeast, Southeast Ridge Street and Douglas Avenue Southeast.
Park & Ride space is available at Snoqualmie Community Park at Southeast Ridge Street and Center Boulevard Southeast.
A map of the bus stop locations is available at Metro Online at www.kingcounty.gov/metro or on the city of Snoqualmie’s website at www.ci.snoqualmie.wa.us
Funding for the new stops was provided by a grant from King County.
“We listened to riders, cities and businesses and are pleased to have these improvements hit the road as ridership continues to climb and more service is needed,” said King County Executive Ron Sims.
