Bridge in North Bend ruled unsafe

A small wooden bridge on Boalch Avenue, known as Bridge No. 1, has been declared as unsafe and “ready to fail,” according to King County’s Roads Services Division.
The bridge is located between the King County Sheriff’s Office substation and the Meadowbrook Farms Interpretive Center. Read more
Voters set to decide on community center

With just days to go before voters make their decision on whether or not to approve a $10 million bond question to build a community center on Snoqualmie Ridge, the community itself remains divided on the need for the facility — even among those who would be closest to the facility.

School board postpones bond decision

An audience of about 50 people applauded the Snoqualmie Valley School Board’s decision to postpone a vote concerning a school bond at the Oct. 23 meeting.
Many people at the meeting came to learn about the district’s plan to potentially transition Snoqualmie Middle School into a satellite campus for Mount Si High School. Read more
Snoqualmie Valley Hospital has its eyes on a new site

A new plan to relocate Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, this time to a smaller site within the Snoqualmie city limits, was unveiled Monday by hospital officials.
Hospital director Rodger McCollum told the Snoqualmie City Council “we’re in full design mode now” to locate the new 67,000-square-foot, 28-bed medical center just inside the city limits at State Route 18 and SE 99th Street. Read more

Snoqualmie approves park site on the Ridge

Arguing that any delay in approval would jeopardize the city’s chances in later securing desired changes, the Snoqualmie City Council Monday granted unanimous approval for a 16-acre community park site that will allow for the construction of the final homes in the Snoqualmie Ridge II development agreement. Economic bailout helps Forest Service

When President George W. Bush approved a $700 billion economic bailout package Oct. 3, he also signed into effect a $3.3 billion earmark that will directly help the Snoqualmie Ranger District.
The earmark is a renewal of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act, which provides funds for improvements to public schools, road maintenance and stewardship projects. Read more
