Herbert J. Hezel, of Snoqualmie, passed away at home on September 18, 2008. He was 86 years of age.Herbert was born Aug. 20, 1922 in Seattle, the son of Jacob and Elsa Hezel. He was raised in Seattle and graduated from Ballard High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He moved to Snoqualmie in the early 1950’s. He was a millwright for Weyerhaeuser for 35 years at the Snoqualmie Falls Mill. In his leisure time he enjoyed fly fishing, camping, hunting, photography and traveling in his RV.
Survivors include son Greg Hezel, of Snoqualmie, daughter Denise Hezel, of Bellevue; a sister Louise Eaton, of Bothell; three brothers Robert Hezel, of Everett, Harold Hezel, of Seattle, and Cliff Hezel; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Fall City Cemetery. A reception and celebration of Herb’s life will follow at the North Bend Senior Center, 411 Main Ave South, North Bend
