Mount Si students win AP scholar awards

The National College Board recognizes students who have earned Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar Awards on the basis of their outstanding academic performance on AP exams. These exams are scored on a 1 to 5 scale with 1 being the lowest possible score and 5 being the highest possible score. The following Mount Si High School students have been honored for their successful results on 2008 AP exams.

AP Scholar Award is granted to students who received grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. The following Mount Si High School students from the classes of 2008 and 2009 have earned this award: Colin Alexander, Thomas Appleseth, Alexander Bolves, Rachel Brun, Bobbie Buzzell, Sean Byrnes, Kyle Clark, Jacqueline Ferland, Matthew Fujimoto, Amy Grantham, Avery Hamann, Kyle Hansen-Kahn, Tamara Hoeth, Quinn Hopkins, Megan Mabel, Marissa Pleasants, Kimberly Sanders, Zachary Whetsel, Laura White, and Katherine Woolsey.

AP Scholar with Honor Award is granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. The following Mount Si High School students from the class of 2008 have earned this award: Shino Asanuma, Kenneth James, Britta Nelson, Erika Strine, Owen Strom, Kelsey Tarp, and Haley Williamson.

AP Scholar with Distinction Award is granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. Two Mount Si High School students from the class of 2008 earned this prestigious award: Benjamin Joselyn and Ian Smith.
