The second annual Rally In The Valley, an adult flag football tournament, will be June 7 at Mount Si High School. Team slots are available and are $40 per player, which includes a t-shirt, hospitality tent and lunch. Proceeds to benefit Mount Si High School athletics.

Twede’s Café is helping Teresa and Jeff Warren raise money for Relay for Life by holding a spaghetti dinner from 6-8 p.m. June 11. All proceeds from spaghetti orders at Twede’s Cafe, 137 North Bend Way, will benefit the Snoqualmie Valley Relay and the American Cancer Society.

The 13th annual Gaslamp Scramble will be at 10 a.m. June 21 at Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course. Tournament fees are $75 per person and $300 per team. The fees include a tee package, prizes and dinner. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Issaquah Food Bank and Issaquah Valley Community Services. For more information, call 392-4547.

Editorial cartoonist Jeff Johnson will hold a cartoon drawing class from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12 at Si View Metro Parks. The class is $44 and for ages 9-14. For more information, call 831-1900.

Merle Jay Shardelman of Snoqualmie died May 14, 2008, from complications following open heart surgery. He was 79. Born February 4, 1929 in Columbus, Kansas, son of Frank and Evaline Shardelman, he was the ninth of ten children. Read more
