Donald A. Jerick
Donald A. Jerick of North Bend died on Dec. 20, 2008 in Bellevue. Don was born on March 6, 1956 in Spokane to Nickolas and Dorothy Jerick. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Church in Spokane. He was raised in Spokane and was a 1974 graduate of Gonzaga Prep. He also graduated from Spokane Falls Community College.

While growing up in Spokane, Don and his parents were avid golfers at Wandermere Golf Course, where he and his Dad both had a “hole-in-one” to converse about for many years. Don was a former resident of Issaquah, where he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Later, when he moved to North Bend, he became a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
Don married Janet Farnam on March 18, 2006 in Preston, and made their home in North Bend. He was a manager of sales at Acosta Sales and Marketing in Bellevue. Don was an avid golfer and member of the U.S. Golf Association. He and Janet enjoyed playing golf at Mt. Si and Cascade golf courses. Good golfing memories were also shared in Maui with friend, Timm. The best golf was enjoyed while visiting his cousins (the Ellingsen brothers and wives) in Palm Springs, Calif.
Don is survived by his wife Janet in North Bend. He is also survived by his sister Nikki Schafer and husband, Dave in Spokane. Don was the much-loved and very proud uncle of Melea Owen of Spokane, Donnie Owen of Vancouver, Wash., and Jeff Schafer also of Spokane. His niece and nephews have the greatest memories of Don that will last a lifetime.
Always a sports fan, Don was also coach and mentor to Nelson Espe and Amber Bangsund for many years.
Don will be buried with his parents in Spokane at Fairmount Memorial Park at a later date. A celebration of Don’s life will be shared by family and friends in the spring.
Don was an avid animal lover so a donation in his memory to the animal shelter of your choice would be appropriate or a memorial contribution may be made to Overlake Hospital Cancer Center, 1135 116th Avenue NE Bellevue, Wash., 98004.
Friends and family are invited to share memories and sign the family’s online guestbook at www.flintofts.com or contact Don’s sister in Spokane at 509-994-3766. Arrangements by Flintofts Funeral Home and Crematory, 425-392-6444.
