Jeannine Lavery, of Duvall, died peacefully in her home on March 27, 2009. She was 51 years old.
Jeannine was born on Sept. 7, 1957 in Toronto, Canada, the daughter of Jeanne Howe and John Lavery. Jeannine grew up in Canada until 1988, when she moved to California. In 1994, Jeannine moved to Washington and made it her home. Shortly after her arrival, she was working at a coffee stand at a gas station where she met her now husband, Tom Leopold. Together, they moved to Carnation and raised Tom’s daughter Alicia Smith (Leopold). When she was grown and gone, Jeannine and Tom decided it was time for them to move on, as well. So, in December of 2004, Jeannine and Tom bought their first home in Duvall. After many years together, they both decided that they wanted to be married. So, on Sept. 1, 2007 Jeannine and Tom became husband and wife. Jeannine worked at Autosys in Redmond as a service advisor. She enjoyed her job and her co-workers very much.
Jeannine was a very loving, caring and selfless person. She always put others in front of herself. She loved the thrill of racing cars and demolition derbies. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, but most of all she loved her dogs.
Survivors include husband Tom Leopold, of Duvall; daughter Alicia Smith (Leopold) and her husband Travis Smith, of Carnation; mother and step-father Jeanne and Terry Howe, of Henderson, Nevada; brother John Lavery and his wife Donna Lavery, of Modesto California; Aunt Shirley, of Ontario Canada; many nieces and nephews and of course her loving dogs, Bandit, Hobo and Dakota.
A celebration of Jeannine’s life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please give a donation in her name to any animal shelter.
