The Mount Si Artist Guild Art Show will be from April 27 – May 31 in the conference room of the North Bend Library.
Cub Scout Pack 452 is recruiting new scouts at North Bend Elementary at 6 p.m. May 29. All cub scouts must be in grades first through fourth during the 2009-10 school year. The Attic Lounge at Salish Lodge and Spa will host a book signing with Carol Freiberg, author of “The Best Places to Kiss Cookbook: Recipes from the Most Romantic Restaurants, Cafes and Inns of the Pacific Northwest,” on May 29. Complimentary samples of Salish Lodge’s Decadent Chocolate Mousse, featured in the book, will be served and happy hours specials will be extended until 6:30 p.m.

The Mount Si KeyClub fundraiser event for Relay for Life is a community garage sale, scheduled for May 30-31 at CTT Destinations, 8429 Falls Ave., in Snoqualmie. Those who wish to drop off donated items for the event can do so at CTT Destinations any time before May 28. Call 831-0367 for pick-up arrangements. Any items not sold during the event will be taken to various charities.
Kiwanis Club of Snoqualmie Valley will collect food, new and slightly used clothing and toys for Eastside Baby Corner from 2-6 p.m. June 6. Collection sites include the QFC in North Bend and the Snoqualmie Ridge Supermarket. For more information, go to www.babycorner.org.
The next Community Conversation will be at 1 p.m. June 7 at the North Bend Library. The Mount Si School of Karate is offered through Si View Community Center Mondays and Wednesdays each month. Volunteer Opportunities
The North Bend Block Party Planning Committee is busy preparing for the city of North Bend’s centennial celebration and could use some helping hands. The block party has been scheduled from 4-10 p.m. June 27. Volunteer sign-up sheets are available at U-Dirty Dog and Renaissance Pet Boutique. The Mt. Si Helping Hands Food Bank seeks volunteers to collect food at local retailers one day a week. It is a 1-2 hour commitment and requires light lifting. If interested, call 890-3588.
Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum seeks docents to volunteer at the Museum from 1-5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday through October. Duties will include greeting visitors, selling items in the gift shop and more. Training will be provided. Contact the museum at 888-3200 or Pat Kelly at 888-1557.
The Senior Services Transportation Program seeks volunteers to drive seniors around North Bend and Snoqualmie. Volunteers will drive their own vehicles and choose the weekdays, times and areas in which they’d like to drive. Mileage reimbursement and supplemental liability insurance are offered. Adopt-A-Park with yourself, your family, neighbors or club. Adopt-A-Park is a volunteer program for Snoqualmie residents willing to help improve and enhance public parks and trails. Volunteering requires an application and a one-year commitment. Call 831-5784.
Be a Study Zone tutor and give students the homework help they need. Study Zone needs volunteers to tutor elementary through high school students in math, science, English, social studies and study methods. A two-hour weekly commitment and flexible substitute scheduling are available. The Study Zone program is a free service offered by the King County Library System. For more information, call 369-3312.

Join the North Bend Library Tuesday Book Group for an evening of lively conversation about a variety of new and notable fiction and nonfiction.
