The annual event is designed to celebrate the conservation and education efforts in the Mountains to Sound Greenway. It includes more than 25 activities over the two-day festival, including a new interpretive hike up Tiger Mountain that will be led by Greenway educators.

“All of our events are for anyone,” Greenway Days Coordinator Stephanie Dunlap said. “We have a lot of family-friendly stuff, but there are events for people of all ages and all interests.”

Perhaps the most popular event over the years has been the Geoteaming competition at Rattlesnake Lake.

Teams are loaned a GPS unit and race against other teams to find hidden caches along trails. The top two teams who uncover the largest amount of caches win prizes.

The competition takes place at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. June 20 at Rattlesnake Lake and pre-registration is required at www.mtsgreenway.org.

That is just one of four events scheduled for North Bend.

There will be a tour of the protected Cedar River Municipal Watershed at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 20-21 for ages 10 and older. Those interested can sign up at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center.

The Iron Horse State Park Bike Ride will be at 10:30 a.m. June 20. Norm Tjaden from the Cascade Bicycle Club will lead a 40-mile ride along the John Wayne Pioneer Trail.

The pace will be set at 12-14 miles-per-hour. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Also, the Father’s Day Walk will be from 9 a.m. – noon June 21. The 10K walk will go along the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, built on the abandoned railroad, enjoying views of Mount Si, Rattlesnake Mountain and the Snoqualmie River.

The Meadowbrook Farm Interpretive Center will host a kite-making session from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. June 21.

The event will include building, decorating and flying kites, as well as a guided nature walk.

Also in Snoqualmie, the Northwest Railway Museum will take visitors on a ride from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. June 20-21. Tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $7 for children.
