  • Mount Si High School will honor veterans from 9-10 a.m. Nov. 10 at its annual Veterans Day Assembly. Mount Si would like to honor all those who are serving, have served, or are planning on serving in the United States Military.   • WSU’s Enhancing and Managing for Wildlife Habitat Workshop, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Nov. 12 and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 14, Carnation and Issaquah. Learn to create habitat while reducing wildlife conflicts in this two part, free workshop offered by WSU King County Extension. Topics include creating a wildlife plan for your property, installing bat boxes, enhancing nesting habitat and living with mammals.   • Tanner Annex Open House, 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19, Mount Si Senior Center, 411 Main Ave. S. Volunteer Opportunities

  • Join Claffey’s Painting of North Bend in Painting a Better Tomorrow, Nov. 7, Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue, 209 100th Ave N.E., Bellevue. Volunteers will help put a fresh coat of paint on the facility. Food and drinks will be provided. For more information, call the Master Builders Care Foundation at 425-451-7920.
  • The King County Library System Traveling Library Center needs volunteers to share their love of reading with someone who cannot use the library. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and can select, deliver and return library materials to one shut-in patron at least once a month, for one year.   • The Senior Services Transportation Program seeks volunteers to drive seniors around North Bend and Snoqualmie. Volunteers choose the times and areas in which they’d like to drive.   • Join the North Bend Library Tuesday Book Group for an evening of lively conversation about a variety of new and notable fiction and nonfiction. The group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the North Bend Library meeting room. New members are always welcome. For more information, call 425-888-0554.
  • The North Bend Chess Club, for all ages, meets from 7-9 p.m. every Thursday.
  • Game On, for ages 12-18, meets 3-5 p.m. Fridays to play XBox 360, Playstation, Nintendo DS, Guitar Hero and DDS. Board games also are available.
  • English as a Second Language classes meet at 6:30-8 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 5-Dec. 14.
  • Toddler Story Time, for ages 2-3 with an adult, meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays.
  • Preschool Story Time, for ages 3-6 with an adult, meets at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.
  • Evening Family Story Time meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

Snoqualmie Library

  • Friends of the Snoqualmie Library meet at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19 at the Snoqualmie Library. The group meets once a month to support the library’s programs.
  • Young Toddler Story Time, for ages 12-24 months with an adult, is at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays.
  • Preschool Story Time, for ages 3 to 6 with an adult, is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays.
  • Anime & Manga Club, for middle and high school students, meets at 3 p.m. Wednesdays, to watch anime movies, eat popcorn and practice manga drawing.
