  • MSHS KeyClub’s Holiday Garage Sale, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 21, CTT Destinations (next to Got Rice), 8429 Falls Ave. S.E., Snoqualmie. Proceeds from the sale will go to the 2010 Relay for Life. Lot’s of nice new holiday gift and home decor items available for very reasonable prices.
  • Snoqualmie Valley Transition Initiative public information sessions, 6:30-8 p.m. Dec. 2, 3, 8 and 9, various locations. Come to learn and discuss how to deal with economic crisis, climate change and peak oil on a local level.   • Veterans’ Memorial Foundation fundraising dinner, 5:30 p.m. Nov. 21, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 8200 Railroad Ave. S.E., Snoqualmie. Join the Eagles and musical guest Harley Brumbaugh for a meatloaf dinner and help them raise money for a veterans’ memorial. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Snoqualmie Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3, at the Railroad Park Gazebo, 7971 Railroad Ave. S.E.The evening will include with caroling, rides in an antique carriage, and a visit with Santa Claus in the park gazebo. Apple cider and cookies will be served.

  • Fall City Arts Holiday Market is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 5, Chief Kanim Middle School.
  • Si View Holiday Bazaar, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 5, Si View Community Center. Shop a variety of local handmade arts and crafts, and enjoy entertainment by local talents.   • Lori McPhetridge benefit dinner and auction, 5 p.m. Dec. 5, the Moose Hall, 108 Sydney Ave. N., North Bend. The event is being held to help the McPhetridges cover medical bills. Organizers are seeking donations for the auction, such as a cord of wood, a car repair service, a fishing trip, babysitting, house cleaning, baked goods, and new or gently used items.   • Tanner Annex Open House, 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19, Mount Si Senior Center, 411 Main Ave. S. Volunteer Opportunities

  • The King County Library System Traveling Library Center needs volunteers to share their love of reading with someone who cannot use the library. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and can select, deliver and return library materials to one shut-in patron at least once a month, for one year.   • The Senior Services Transportation Program seeks volunteers to drive seniors around North Bend and Snoqualmie. Volunteers choose the times and areas in which they’d like to drive.
