King County seeks public input on proposed rules for wood placement in rivers

King County has scheduled public meetings to get public comments on wood placement in rivers, which is done to improve habitat for fish and wildlife, and stabilize stream banks. It can also affect recreational safety.
The draft rule and supporting documents are available online at www.kingcounty.gov/environment/wlr.
The meetings are scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 25., King County Library Service Center, 960 Newport Way N.W., Issaquah, and 6 p.m. Jan. 28, Mercer View Community Center 8236 S.E. 24th St., Mercer Island.
Comments may also be submitted in writing. Written comments must be received by no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 19. Mail comments to Department of Natural Resources and Parks, ATTN: Cathy Jimenez, 201 S. Jackson Street, Room 600, Seattle, WA 98104-3855, or send an e-mail to Cathy.Jimenez@kingcounty.gov.
