Police recovered a missing 14-year-old North Bend girl Jan. 12 after she called 911 from the Daffodil Motel in Milton.

Christopher Thomson, 47, of Kent, has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, soliciting a minor, rape of a minor and drug possession, according to court documents.

The girl was admitted to St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, where she was treated for minor injuries and released, according to the Federal Way Police Department.

Thomson is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

The girl had last been seen at about 8:45 p.m. Jan. 9, outside her mother’s apartment in Federal Way. Her parents are divorced. Her father is remarried and lives in North Bend. She spends one weekend a month with her mother.

Her mother’s roommate went to bring her in shortly after 9 p.m., but couldn’t find her. He and the girl’s mother searched a one-block radius, but found no sign of her, they said.

Clerks at nearby stores said they had not seen her that evening.

“The only thing we have after 9 (p.m.), at about 9:05 (p.m.), there was some phone activity,” probably a text message either trying to be sent or delivered, her mother said.

Her mother contacted police and filed a missing person report shortly after her daughter went missing.

Federal Way police officers took a report, but the girl’s parents both said they felt frustrated by the department’s efforts.

“They’re treating this like it’s a child that’s just run away,” the mother said Jan. 11.

The girl, meanwhile, had been abducted from a parking lot across the street, according to court documents.

She told police she was in the parking lot soliciting for prostitution, according to the documents.

In the parking lot, Thomson pulled her into his van against her will, she told police.

According to the court papers, he took the teen to five different motels over the next three days, threatening her with a gun and knife, forcing her to smoke a drug she said she thought was methamphetamine.

During that time, he raped her more than once, court documents said.

On Jan. 12, Thomson left the girl in a room at the Daffodil Motel and she called 911. Milton police officers arrested the suspect during a traffic stop, and Federal Way police officers recovered the girl from the motel.
