Local arts supporters have joined together to highlight creative endeavors in Snoqualmie Valley. The group, Snoqualmie Valley Arts, is lead by local artists Richard Burhans.

“We want to support existing artists (and) arts organizations, and increase opportunities for Valley residents to enjoy, learn and experience the energy and splendor of this area’s visual and performing artists,” Sallie Burhans said in a statement released by the group. She heads the committee with her husband, Richard.

In the same statement, committee member Dick Ryon said the group hopes “the Valley will become a destination for people seeking unique cultural offerings and that we can help enhance the local economy.”

Many of the group’s founding members were involved in organizing the art display during North Bend’s Centennial celebration at the Festival at Mount Si.

Potential future projects include establishing public exhibition sites for local artists, a Valley chamber music festival directed by North Bend musicians Emanuel and Lenore Vardi, and creating a Valley arts center.

    Hi Gang,
We are welcoming back to the Snoqualmie Valley, Austin, TX singer/songwriter Danny Schmidt on May 10th, 2010. This is our first of a series of Guest Artist Concerts at the Sallal Grange and Community Hall in North Bend. The show will open with locals Mike Antone w/Camellia Jade and Dominic Cantanzaro. I was looking for the Sno Valley Arts web site to to send concert details in hopes of you helping us promote the event and the venue. Tickets are $12 and are available at The Nursery at Mount Si or by calling 425 829-7995. I hope you can help us spread the word.
    Thanks,
    Nels Melgaard
