Snoqualmie Valley to host half marathon

Snoqualmie Valley is hosting its first half-marathon May 1 in more than two decades.
Organizers expect nearly 1,000 runners from across the region to participate in the inaugural Cinco de Mayo Mini Marathon and 8-kilometer run. The event will start on Schusman Avenue behind Mount Si High School and finish at the school’s track facility.
School board approves elementary boundary change

The Snoqualmie Valley School Board unanimously approved the modified Option C elementary school boundary change at a special meeting April 21, meaning changes for Cascade View Elementary School and Snoqualmie Elementary School.
At the meeting, school administrators addressed concerns made by community members. After the Elementary Boundary Study Committee made its recommendation to the school board April 15, the school district has received hundreds of e-mails, online comments, phone calls and a petition signed by 323 people against the modified Option C change.
At the meeting, Superintendent Joel Aune thanked the community for its input, both positive and negative.
