Singers needed for choir of 101

May 26, 2010

Some extraordinary talented musicians will play at the Snoqualmie Valley Festival of Music August 7-8 in North Bend.

Harley Brumbaugh, of North Bend, wants some of that talent to be homegrown.

He’s recruiting a choir of 101 Snoqualmie Valley voices to sing songs from “The Sound of Music” and “Oklahoma!” as well as Americana music and “Four Riverside Reflections,” a piece he composed himself.

There are eight rehearsals, the first one from 7-9 p.m. June 14 at Cascade Covenant Church, 13225 436th Ave. S.E., North Bend.

Brumbaugh asked that all participants make it to at least five weekly practices and have some choral experience.

“We want this to be a family thing,” he said, saying that although singers must be 18 years old to participate, he would allow children to sing if their parents were involved.
