Casino concerts
Wow. I’m one of the closest houses to the casino and it’s pleasant and delightful here — the sound of George Benson, with great clarity at a modest volume — on my back deck. What’s not to love? I would put my house at approximately one-third of a mile directly from the stage. I guess I have the proper buffer of trees — dunno, but I’m diggin’ it. They do a great job. I went there to check it out in person — 100 percent professionally produced.

I have heard people say they enjoy the casino music from their yards. Will that be true if the casino has concerts by the Dead Kennedys or Throbbing Gristle? Then I’ll be able to tell those folks “Why don’t you take a hit of Ecstasy and enjoy the music? It is like a free slam dance in your living room!” which is essentially what they’ve said.
We should all respect the fact that we have different tastes, and fess up that it is great to be able to GO to hear the music and also enjoy the right to stay at home and NOT hear the music. We would all then be able to enjoy our own space. I enjoy quiet but the concerts deprive me of that.
The managers of the casino feel we do not have this right. They feel they can book any band at any decibel level at any time that will earn them a buck. I understand the origin of that point of view. If I earned $480,000 base salary like Michael Barozzi does (He is the CEO of the firm that runs the casino), I could afford to live outside of the noise zone and disregard the puny voices of the inconvenienced lesser people. I’d find it totally impossible to understand the petty concern of a homeowner whose house was suddenly worth $40,000 less than it was a year ago from the noise because I’d be earning that much every month. Ooh! Is it true that in September 50 Cent is playing the casino?

Casino Concert Noise
Last weeks web comment by someone claiming to live one third of a mile from the Casino who finds the sound from concerts”Delightful and Pleasant”, and they “are diggin it” off their back deck reeks of a paid announcement by the Casino.
Channel 5 filmed from the back yard of one of the closest homes to the Casio on N. Bend way during the recent Peter Frampton/Yes concert a couple of weeks ago. They could barely conduct the interview the noise was so bad. This particular homeowner has appeared at City Council meetings, and at the Town Hall meeting with Kathy Lambert our King Council representative to complain about the impossible living conditions due to the outrageous noise blaring from the Casino.
I love approximately 1.2 milles from the Casino which just finished 4 straight evenings of concerts, we find it necessary to keep the doors and windows closed so we can have normal conversation, and try to watch TV over the racket. That is not plesant in this 85 degree heat, and is not what I moved my family here for 11 years ago.
There is a planned meeting at the Snoqualmie Library on Aug. 3, to have open discussion on this issue. I am in hopes that residents that enjoy the concerts from their homes will come to share their thoughts with those who find the situation intolorable and we can all work
toward a mutual way to handle this situation. Maybe even a representative from the Snoqualmie Tribe might show up, so far they have not deemed this matter important enough to discuss in City Council meetings, or the recent Town hall meeting.
