Thank you to all of the park bond supporters
A tremendous thank you to all of the people, businesses, newspapers, community organizations and governments who supported the Si View Parks Bond Campaign. So far, unofficially, more than 62 percent of the voters were in favor, which means the bond should pass when the final counts are certified Sept. 1.
Your generous gifts of time, money and hard work helped us share the message with our voters, whose enthusiastic support helped us meet a challenging 60 percent approval requirement. The intensity of our volunteers and supporters was matched by the outpouring of concern for Si View Community Center and Park.
Clearly, our community deeply values our shared recreation resources and wants us to take care of them for generations to come. Thanks for making the campaign a success!

Many helped pancake breakfast be a success
The Snoqualmie Firefighter’s Association held its annual Pancake Breakfast on Aug. 21 and once again the support from the businesses and citizens of the city of Snoqualmie and outlying communities was overwhelming.
As a nonprofit organization, the Snoqualmie Firefighter’s Association relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to help continue our long-standing tradition of serving the community. The Snoqualmie Firefighters Association is dedicated to the community which it serves.
The association promotes and supports the mission of the Snoqualmie Fire Department in a professional manor. In addition, it promotes firefighter/EMS safety and training, and public safety and training within the community, through such events as the annual Safety Fair, Halloween safety and public CPR classes. The association also has children’s bike helmets available for purchase for a nominal fee.
The Snoqualmie Firefighter’s Association provides charitable support to individuals, community groups and charitable organizations, including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Encompass and the Mount Si Helping Hand Food Bank, the direct beneficiary of any leftover food from the Pancake Breakfast. Furthermore, the association works to maintain and preserve the historical 1939 fire engine — the city of Snoqualmie’s very first fire engine.
I would like to personally thank everyone at the Snoqualmie Fire Department who put in untold hours to make this event possible. Without their dedication and hard work this event would not be possible.

Free movies were a welcome summer event
I would like to thank the North Bend Theatre for showing free G-rated movies this summer for families in the Valley.
It was great to see some of the movies that I remember seeing in a theater when I was a kid. My girls had a fun time going to the movies throughout the summer. Your choice of movies was fantastic!
Thank you for offering these movies for free, especially for those who were looking for something inexpensive to do with their kids. Your popcorn and soda sizes are perfect for little people.
