Local cities host recycling event

April 18, 2012

By Staff

A hazardous waste recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 at Snoqualmie Middle School, 9200 Railroad Ave., Snoqualmie.

Items to be collected include barbecues, microwaves, cast iron sinks and tubs, dishwashers, lawnmowers, stoves, hot water heaters, washers and dryers, household refrigerators and freezers, household air conditioners, computers, monitors, laptops, keyboards, scanners, printers, fax machines and power supplies. Some items, like florescent light bulbs and tires, cost money, so be prepared with cash to recycle those items.

Organizers ask that you do not bring any oil-based paint, pesticides or household chemicals. Those items will be collected in July.

Learn more by calling the Household Hazards Information Line at 206-296-4692 or go to www.lhwmp.org.

This program is only for household materials from King County residents. All service providers at the event have the right to refuse any material they deem unacceptable.
