Mark your calendars for North Bend’s 2013 events schedule

North Bend’s 2013 calendar of events has been announced, according to a press release from the city.

March 29 – International Fly Fishing Film Festival – Features films from around the globe showcasing the passions, stories and culture of fly fishing from around the world. Visit http://flyfilmfest.com.

April 7 – University of Washington Cycling Criterium, “crit” – This short course bike race will be held on closed streets in Downtown North Bend (2nd & 3rd from Main to Downing). This event will bring more than a half dozen collegiate cycling teams and some of the United States top cyclist! Don’t miss it.

April 20 – North Bend Blues Walk – Hosting this 2013 event we have 11 great venues that span a few blocks in Downtown North bend; The Pour House, Chang Thai, Pioneer Coffee, North Bend Theatre, Twede’s Café, Euro Café, George’s Baker, Valley Center Stage, Boxley’s, Chaplin’s, Scott’s Dairy Freeze. April 25 – May 9 – Wind in the Willows – A musical telling of the cherished children’s classic plays at Valley Center Stage. Thursdays – Saturdays 7:30 p.m. Valley Center Stage is North Bend’s live community theater. More information at www.valleycenterstage.org.

June 13 – Sept. 12 – North Bend Farmers Market and Summer Concert Series – North Bend Farmers Market is located at Si View Park in the heart of town with a spectacular view of Mount Si. Our market season runs from mid-June to mid-September each year, 4-8 p.m. on Thursdays. Come enjoy the small town atmosphere!

July 20 – Downtown North Bend Block Party – Music and entrainment fans need look no farther than North Bend Way to find two different stages playing host to a bevy of local bands, singers, dancers and acts of many kind. This event is designed to show case the North Bend Community. Don’t miss this day in Downtown North Bend, a day when the streets are filled with the unprecedented talents of our community! DON’T MISS SPIKE AND THE IMPALERS!

Aug. 9 – 11 – Festival at Mt Si – The Festival at Mount Si honors the community spirit of North Bend as it preserves the past, celebrates the present, and embraces our future. For more information and a full list of the events please visit www.festivalatmtsi.org.

Aug. 2 – Twin Peaks Film Festival – Twin Peaks the American television serial drama created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, became one of the top rated shows of 1990 and was a critical success both nationally and internationally. The series was filmed primarily in North Bend and Snoqualmie. http://www.twinpeaksfest.com

Aug. 11 – Tour de Peaks Bike Ride– Sponsored by the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital the Tour de Peaks Bike ride includes 3 fully supported rides, 100 mile Century, a 50 mile Half Century, and a 25 mile intermediate course. For more information visit www.tourdepeaks.org.

Sept. 7 – North Bend Adventure Sport Festival & Iron Horse Relay – North Bend is the small town that is creating the premier outdoor adventure destination for the Puget Sound region. The Adventure Sport Festival brings the outdoor recreation thrills from surrounding mountains & rivers and places them on North Bend Way. Climb a mini mountain, careen through the streets on a zip line, race through the streets with your team in the Iron Horse Relay and much much more.

Sept. 14 – North Bend Jazz Walk – Hosting this year’s Jazz Walk will be another great line up of Downtown North Bend venues spanning the core city blocks. For more information visit our website at www.northbendjazzwalk.com.

Oct. 26 – North Bend Halloween Festival & Haunted House – A Costume Parade, Si View Haunted House’s (which is not for the faint at heart) and much more!

October – November – North Bend Mountain Film Series- Starting in early October, North Bend Theatre will host film from our Mountain series each Sunday afternoon through November

Dec. 7 – North Bend Amateur Outdoor Film Challenge. Submit you amateur film, win cash and see it played on the big screen. Yes that is right….winning films will be played on the big screen in December 2013 as a part of the North Bend Mountain Film Festival in coordination with the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting in Downtown North Bend. Dec. 4 -6 – Banff Film Festival – North Bend Theatre will again host the Banff Film Festival, a world renown festival boasting the best mountain and outdoor recreation oriented films in the world. For more information visit www.northbendtheatre.com.

Dec. 7 – Holiday Tree Lighting Festival – Come one, come all….Join Santa, Frosty and the Nutcracker in Downtown North Bend for an evening full of holiday spirit and community togetherness.

December – Warren Miller Flow State at the North Bend Theatre – Big air, big jumps, crazy adrenaline charged skiers and snowboards famous films and footage.

Dec. 18 – 24 Classic Christmas Films – including “Miracle on 34th Street” and “It’s A Wonderful Life”

Dec. – A Christmas Carol – The Valley Center Stage presents another great production…. Experience holiday entertainment for the whole family with Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas ghost story!
