King County elections offers free candidate workshops

King County Elections is hosting two, complimentary two-hour workshops to discuss important information related to filing for office in King County. The workshops will be held from 2-4 p.m. April 24, and 10 a.m. – noon April 27 at the King County Elections headquarters, 919 SW Grady Way in Renton, according to a city of Snoqualmie press release.
Snoqualmie will have four city council positions and the mayor seat open in the 2013 general election. Candidate filing opens May 13 and closes May 17. Interested persons may file in online, in-person or by mail
Mayor Matt Larson’s term will expire on Dec. 31. He has announced that he will run for a third term. Council positions 1, 3, 5, and 7, currently held by Bob Jeans, Bryan Holloway, Maria Henriksen and Kathi Prewitt, respectively, also expire Dec. 31. They have each confirmed that they will run for re-election.
Members of the public, candidates, campaign managers, treasures and staff are invited to attend the workshop, which covers the following topics:
- Filing for office in King County
- Submitting voters’ pamphlet information
- Voter lists and data management
- Campaign sign regulations
- Basic public disclosure requirements
