Junior Wildcat Football season is kicking off Aug. 12, according to a press release from the Junior Wildcat Football Association. For anyone interested in participating in Junior Wildcat, Snoqualmie Valley’s youth football program, or as a cheerleader, registration is open until June 30.

The cost to participate in the fall season of Wildcat Junior Football is $350 for football and $325 for cheerleading. Players must have been born on or before July 31, 2005, but not before Aug. 1, 1998.

For anyone interested in improving their skills or learning the game, football camp is also accepting registrations. The week-long football camps are from 6-8:30 p.m. July 15-18 for boys and girls ages 7-9, and July 22-25 for boys and girls ages 10-14. Camp is $150, which includes a T-shirt and mouth guard to keep, and equipment rental.

Football camp is run by Mount Si’s head football coach Charlie Kinnune, with support from his coaching staff and the Mount Si football team. Participants will learn the fundamentals of football on the Mount Si High School football field. If it is their first year, they will learn the game of football.  If the players already have the basics down, the camp will sharpen their skills.  Kids are broken out by age and skill level to better enable them to excel in the sport.

Go to www.wcjfa.org to register before June 30.
