North Bend to hold second community meeting

June 14, 2013

By Staff

Based on the response to the city of North Bend’s first public safety community meeting held in May, the city and Police Chief Mark Toner will hold a second meeting from 6-8 p.m. June 20 at the Mount Si Senior Center.

In an effort to provide more detail and specifics in these meetings, one or two key issues per meeting will be discussed, with additional meetings scheduled for the third Thursday of each month, according to a press release from the city.

Feedback has shown that the key point of interest for discussion is home security, so that will be the topic of this first monthly meeting. After introductions, the talks will focus on security, safety, crime prevention, door locks, camera systems, weapon security in the home and other related topics. Following the discussion, the public will determine the focus of upcoming meetings.

These meetings will be open discussions – not just lectures from a podium. Future topics will be announced prior to each meeting to enable people to choose if they want to attend or not. In the meantime, contact Toner to offer suggestions, input or feedback for future meetings.
