Snoqualmie Valley Hospital will raffle two bikes on July 27th at Meadowbrook Farm in North Bend as part of the Tour de Peaks. The adult bike is a Roubaix Expert Road bicycle manufactured by Specialized with a retail value of $3,300. The children’s bike is a Fuse 16 BMX, also manufactured by Specialized, with a retail value of $300. The bikes are currently on display at Singletrack Cycles, and will rotate through several Valley businesses between now and the event date. Raffle tickets - $2 for the adult bike and $1 for the children’s bike - can be purchased at the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber office, or from Bob Cole, 749-6905. You must be present to win.

Volunteer Opportunities
Adopt-A-Park with yourself, your family, neighbors or club. Adopt-A-Park is a volunteer program for Snoqualmie residents willing to help improve and enhance public parks and trails. Volunteering requires an application and a one-year commitment. Call 831-5784.
Be a Study Zone tutor and give students the homework help they need. Study Zone needs volunteers to tutor elementary through high school students in math, science, English, social studies and study methods. A two-hour weekly commitment and flexible substitute scheduling are available. The Study Zone program is a free service offered by the King County Library System. For more information, call 369-3312.

To be considered, applicants must by at least 21 years of age, live within 10 minutes of Snoqualmie and pass a basic entrance exam. A written exam and oral board with be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 16 at the fire station. The physical agility test and the fire academy will be at Mount View Fire in Auburn. Recruit introduction and physical agility tests will be Oct. 4, the same day the academy begins. The recruit academy lasts about three months. Co-producer Chuck Brodish will give background information on the video, which also will tell the story of an old trail that became Interstate 90.

Pink Ribbon Day at North Bend Theater will be July 7. The event includes a showing of the film, “Wall E,” at both 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and include popcorn and a drink. Snoqualmie Valley Hospital will raffle two bikes on July 27th at Meadowbrook Farm in North Bend as part of the Tour de Peaks. The adult bike is a Roubaix Expert Road bicycle manufactured by Specialized with a retail value of $3,300. The children’s bike is a Fuse 16 BMX, also manufactured by Specialized, with a retail value of $300. The bikes are currently on display at Singletrack Cycles, and will rotate through several Valley businesses between now and the event date. The tournament supports the Snoqualmie Valley Youth Hub, which provides opportunities to more than 4,000 young people in the Snoqualmie Valley. Cost is $100 per team if registered by June 14 and $110 per team if registered by July 15. Snoqualmie residents receive a $15 discount of team registration. The 20th Anniversary of Tour de Peaks will be celebrated July 27 in Snoqualmie Valley. Adult registration is $30 by July 3, $35 by July 23 and $40 the day of the event. Children ages 3-12 are $8.
The 69th annual Snoqualmie Railroad Days will be Aug. 1-3 in downtown Snoqualmie. The event is currently looking for volunteers, who will earn a free T-shirt and beverages for their service. To learn more about the event, go to http://www.railroaddays.com/.

Events
The second annual Rally In The Valley, an adult flag football tournament, will be June 7 at Mount Si High School. Team slots are available and are $40 per player, which includes a t-shirt, hospitality tent and lunch. Proceeds to benefit Mount Si High School athletics.
Twede’s Café is helping Teresa and Jeff Warren raise money for Relay for Life by holding a spaghetti dinner from 6-8 p.m. June 11. All proceeds from spaghetti orders at Twede’s Cafe, 137 North Bend Way, will benefit the Snoqualmie Valley Relay and the American Cancer Society.
The 13th annual Gaslamp Scramble will be at 10 a.m. June 21 at Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course. Tournament fees are $75 per person and $300 per team. The fees include a tee package, prizes and dinner. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Issaquah Food Bank and Issaquah Valley Community Services. For more information, call 392-4547.
