Jack H. Barker

Jack H. Barker, of Issaquah, died at Overlake Hospital on Wednesday, June 11, 2008. He was 75.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Issaquah Community Church. During the memorial service, there will be a brief time set aside for friends and family to share their favorite memory of Jack.
Jack was born July 2, 1932, in Monroe, Wash., the son of Champ and Edna Barker. He was raised in North Bend, and graduated from Mt. Si High School. He signed up for the United States Army with several other men from the Snoqualmie Valley area during the Korean War.
He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars and Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Mr. Barker moved to Issaquah in 1961 and worked for the phone company as a construction supervisor for 35 years. During his first marriage, he raised two sons and built his own home on the Issaquah Plateau. He was involved in the Jaycees and the Elks club.
Jack enjoyed working in his garden spring through fall, to the extent of building his own tomato hothouse and 12-foot electric fence to keep the deer out. His other passion was woodworking, with which he developed and created many projects.
Survivors include wife of 27 years, Dorothy; son Ted (Cindy), of Enumclaw; son Tim (Margaret), of Kirkland; stepson Mike (Eileen); stepdaughters Susan (Dan), Kris and Linda; and eight grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances to American Heart Association.
Arrangements are by Flintoft’s Funeral Home and Crematory.

Chris E. Ochoxner was born July 13, 1971 to Duane and Wiltrud Ochoxner in Snoqualmie. He died June 4, 2008 in Auburn
Chris attended Mount Si High School where he graduated with honors and loved playing on the football team. He also enjoyed skiing, hiking and traveling. Chris was an entrepreneur and operated his own commercial and residential painting business.
He will be remembered for his huge and caring heart, his good sense of humor, his positive attitude, and that he was always willing to give a hand and help out wherever he was needed.
Chris is survived by his mother Wiltrud Ochoxner of Auburn and his sister Heidi M. (husband Jack) Lewis of North Bend. He was a proud uncle and loved his nephews: Austin, Carson, Casey and Marshall. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles in Austria and his uncle Col. CM Backes of Milwaukee, WI and his cousins: Kyle, Kelly-Ann and Craig Backes. He will be missed by many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Duane in 1984.
A celebration of his life and memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. June 14, 2008 at Mount Si Lutheran Church, 411 NE 8th, North Bend, WA 98045.
