Carport theft
A man who lives in the 700 block of Pickett Avenue Northeast reported that someone entered his carport and stole his motorcycle helmet and a generator.
He believes it happened between April 29 and May 6. Read more

Graffiti
Someone broke into a vacant building in the east 500 block of North Bend Way and spray- painted graffiti on walls, including a Nazi symbol inside a circle. A neighbor reported seeing an open window on the building April 28, and that’s when the graffiti was discovered.
Popular building
A witness called police April 29 to report that she watched two juvenile males crawl into an open window of a vacant building in the east 500 block of North Bend Way, while a third juvenile male watched the area.
The three left the building together, and police report they were unable to locate the youths.
Vehicle violence
A man reported that he parked his vehicle behind a building in the 400 block of Mount Si Boulevard at 10 a.m. April 29.
When he returned to his vehicle at 3 p.m., he found his front, passenger window smashed and his coat on the ground.

A clerk at Edgewick Inn asked police on April 24 to get two transients sleeping in the staircase at the hotel to move along.
Daylight theft
A man who lives in the 4000 block of Southeast Tanner Road reported to police that power tools had been stolen from his fenced-in shed in his backyard at about 2 p.m. April 23. The man’s neighbor saw a man and woman, in their 20s pull up in a blue Honda, go into the backyard and then leave.
Up to no good
A resident at the Mount Si Trailer Park told police that he heard noises outside his trailer at about 4 a.m. April 22. When he went outside to investigate, a 6-foot-tall, heavy-built man was standing by his tile saw. The man ran off.
Wannabes
The director of the Northwest Railway Museum called police to report graffiti on a train bridge. The graffiti occurred between April 22 and 25. The incident report read, “Unknown if this graffiti was created by real gang members or gang wannabes.”

Vandalism
A North Bend resident reported to police that someone scratched his car while it was parked at QFC on April 15.
Larceny
A North Bend resident reported to police that a generator had been stolen from his truck while it was parked at QFC on April 13.
Attempted burglary
Police received a report from the manager at Chaplin’s North Bend Chevrolet that between April 16 and 17, someone climbed the business’ 6-foot high metal fence with barbed wire on top, and attempted to kick in the door where bulk motor oil is stored.

Popular Acura Legend
An Acura Legend, which had been secured in a North Bend storage facility until police could execute a search warrant, was broken into between 2:30 and 9 a.m. April 11.
A manager with Wyrsch Towing told police the vehicle had been brought to the secure facility at the request of Deputy Amy Shoblom at 2:30 a.m. April 11, and that Shoblom sealed and locked the vehicle in the locked facility.
The manager told police she came in the next morning and found broken windows at the secured building, and when she looked inside the building, she noticed the seal had been broken on the Acura and the vehicle windows had been broken.
Police lifted three fingerprints from inside the building and one outside the building.
High gas prices are taking their toll
A man who lives in the 300 block of Orchard Drive told police that between March 30 and April 10, someone syphoned gasoline out of his Dodge pickup and poured an unknown substance into his gas tank.

Watch your shopping carts
A woman reported that her purse had been stolen from her shopping cart at about 7:30 p.m. April 4 while she was at Safeway in North Bend. Makeup, $200 cash and a Swiss army knife were in the purse.
Sibling rivalry
A 14-year-old girl was arrested for fourth-degree assault for fighting with her 15-year-old brother and cutting his arm with a piece of broken glass at about 5 p.m. April 4. She was transported to the King County Youth Center.
A taste for the finer things in life
A manager at EZ Mart in North Bend reported that at about 5 p.m. April 5, a 40- to 50-year-old man grabbed five cans of smoked oysters and walked out of the store.

Attack of the BBs
A North Bend couple reported they left their 2007 Chevrolet truck in Mount Si Tavern’s parking lot the night of March 16. When they returned the next day to pick it up, they noticed the windshield had been shot with BBs. A bartender at the tavern had also reported the patio area had been sprayed with BBs that night.
Peeing in the bushes
A police officer saw a woman in the bushes on Southeast 140th Street at 9:15 p.m. March 16. He reported she then ran out of the bushes, got into her vehicle and drove away. When he tried to stop her, she pulled into a driveway and then almost backed into his vehicle. The officer asked what Mare Bron, 50, of Snoqualmie, was doing in the bushes. She told him she was urinating and was on her way to visit a friend. Bron failed field sobriety tests and her blood alcohol content readings were .218 percent and .24 percent. The legal limit in Washington is .08 percent. Bron was arrested for DUI and taken to the Issaquah Jail.
Hit and run
An SUV with California license plates collided with the front end of a truck bearing Montana plates late the night of March 17. A witness told police the SUV drove away after the incident, which happened in front of the Pour House in North Bend. Police are investigating.

Speed up, mister
Police noticed at about 2 a.m. March 18 a man driving 7-10 mph in a 25 mph zone on Southeast North Bend Way.
When police pulled over Justin Jenkins, 30, of North Bend, they reported he had bloodshot eyes and slightly slurred speech. Jenkins declined field sobriety tests, and was arrested for DUI. Police released him to a neighbor who came to pick him up.
Snoqualmie
Speed never pays
Michael C. Ballsmith, 50, was arrested for drunken driving after a Snoqualmie police officer clocked the man driving 92 mph on Interstate 90; he failed to stop right away when the officer turned on his emergency lights.
The officer reported that at about 10 a.m. March 23, Ballsmith pulled off of the interstate at Exit 25 and eventually stopped. The officer said there was a strong odor of alcohol from Ballsmith’s vehicle and he was “shaky and agitated” during field sobriety tests.
Ballsmith was transported to the King County Jail.

Need a lift?
Around 1 a.m. March 18, a driver reported that an older male with white hair was attempting to wave her down. The driver suspected that another person may have been laying by his feet. Officers found the subject, who was intoxicated and walking home. The officer drove the person home.
Trying to help
At about 1:30 p.m. March 18, police received a request from Sammamish Police Department to help locate a suicidal subject. The last ping on his cell phone placed him at a Snoqualmie address. The subject had quit his job and was closing down his accounts. Snoqualmie police were unable to locate the man.
Loose leashes
About 5:30 p.m. on March 18, a woman reported that a lab puppy and pitbull mix dog were loose and that one of the dogs charged at her and her 3-year-old. Officer located the owner and released the dogs to him.

Hey, someone stop that bearded man
On the evening of Feb. 26, a Safeway employee reported to police that a bearded man loaded up a cart with three cases of beer, cat litter and toilet paper and just walked out of the store without paying. Police were unable to locate the suspect.
Bad doggy
At 4 p.m. Feb. 28, a police officer reported he was checking on a homeless camp when a pitbull “came at me in a vicious manner.”
He struck the dog with his nightstick, breaking the stick, but “the dog retreated and was no longer a threat.”
