Wildcat football season ends against unbeaten Graham-Kapowsin Eagles

Posted on March 10, 2025 by Sam Kenyon

NEW – 6:41 p.m.

The Mount Si football season ended after the Wildcats ran into the wall known as the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles on Nov. 14. at Art Crate Field in Spanaway, Washington.

The 38-13 loss came in the first round of the class 4A State playoff tournament. Mount Si had a regular season record of 5-3 before beating the Thomas Jefferson Raiders on Nov. 6 to once again advance past the round of 32 in order to reach the Eagles, who are so far unbeaten this season at 11-0.

Graham-Kapowsin hung 21 points on Mount Si before the Wildcats scored a touchdown when sophomore quarterback Jesiah Irish rushed into the end zone with less than two minutes remaining in the first half.

Mount Si was able to hold the Eagles to a field goal on the first drive of the second half. Then the Wildcats scored a touchdown on the next possession, this time a catch from Irish to senior wide receiver Parker Dumas. But a bad snap and hold for the ensuing field goal kept Mount Si from scoring the extra point. The score reduced the Eagles’ lead to the smallest it would be all game, 24-13.

For the rest of the game the Eagles impressive rushing offensive machine marched downfield with inevitability. They scored on the next possession, a run by one of their rushing stars senior Aaron Wright.

They also ran in a touchdown in the fourth quarter while preventing Mount Si from getting much possession time for the rest of the game.

“I’m just so proud of this team,” said Mount Si head coach Charlie Kinnune after the loss. “This senior group has meant the world to us and our program.”
